Thursday 23rd May
Good Evening, The weather has been kinder to us today, although, we have had to change our plans around. This morning we had a look around the priory and Heritage Centre and the children have behaved excellently, which has been commented on by members of the public and the volunteers at the camp we are staying at. We also managed to go over to St.Cuthbert's Island to see where he lived and have some time for reflection.
This afternoon we have been completing some fieldwork around the island, looking at the different features of it and why people come here. To end our day, we had a lovely Liturgy with all children sharing their thoughts of the week.
The boat trip will now be tomorrow morning, which they are all excited for!
Wednesday 22nd May
Well, it has been a wet and windy day today, but the children have been great! We completed a treasure hunt around the island for the first half of this morning, before the rain came down; then found out some interesting information to do with the island for the second half. We then went down to Druridge Bay and had a go at paddle boarding and canoeing. Although, the weather wasn't great, the children thoroughly enjoyed it and got stuck in with no moaning.
Good morning everyone. The children slept well last night, not too many sweets were consumed to keep them up! The weather doesn't look great, but the children will be wet one way or another today as we are heading off for kayaking and paddle-boarding at Druridge Bay. All the photos from the day will be uploaded later this evening.
Tuesday 21st May
We have arrived at camp safely after a lovely day at Beamish, the sun even made an appearance! The coach was a bit quieter on the last leg of the journey (we'll see how long that lasts). We managed a walk to the beach in the evening. All the children are well and enjoying themselves.
